    OK... ***takes deep breath***

As much as I wanted to try stuffed pizza in Chi-town, the wait was just not happening. Portillo's was definately a suitable alternative. Polish Sausage for breakfast followed by a Chili Dog for lunch (Sausage meals #3 and 4) were both damn tasty.

Time to chime in with my biggest gripe about Chicago. As much as sausage is a staple of this town, you get generic yellow mustard on everything. This coming from a city that is home to some of the best mustards in the world! Chicago's own Kosciusko's mustard is my condiment of choice for sausage, dogs, kielbasa, etc., and I'd at least expect something a little more flavorful than the plain yellow garbage! Check it out at http://www.plochman.com/products.htm

The people at Jazz Record Mart were cool (hooked me up with a free promo CD), but I was out of my league. I went through 5 sections before I found Ray Charles, and I never ended up finding any Cole Porter.

I must say I was a bit disappointed with the Art Institute. I thought the descriptions of the displays were a lot less informative than what I am used to, and I am disappointed that American Gothis wasn't there for me to take silly pictures with. The can is much more poop-friendly than Philly's Art Museum, though.

It was probably the highlight of my trip to see Wrigley Field. I wasn't expecting to be in that area, so that was a nice plus. It is pretty bizarre that you have Wrigley and all the sports bars on one side, and then on the other side of the tracks (literally) you have the seedy underbelly of... Gay Town! Gay Mart was a cool, campy little store, but there was nothing else of interest in that area for me. I was disappointed that the bookstore sisn't have any cool lesbian porn either (although the lesbian erotica novels were tempting).

Dinner at the Hard Rock was good as always. The Hard Rock All Access card is worth its weight in gold. We ended up getting to Subterranian just as Beatallica came on, and damn what a set! I dig the Beatles, and I love Metallica, so this was a real treat. The band has amazing chops, and they know how to fire up a crowd. This is the best small club show I've seen in probably the past 5 years. My favorite song was Ktulu (He's So Heavy), and it figures that's so new that they don't have it up on their site yet. If any of the guys in the band read this, please get a copy of that song online ASAP!

While the allure of the ridiculous numbers of microbrews that awaited us at Shennanigans was great, it sure as hell wasn't worth waiting in line. That's OK, because we ended up at Clark St Ale House, and that was a fine place to wrap up our weekend. I did get to have Robert the Bruce on tap there (a fine Scottish Ale that everyone should try), and got an interesting reaction from some women sitting next to us after making quite the obscene phone call. One of them actually looked like she was considering doing a few of the things I said on the phone!

As for Mickey D's, well we all have our demons. Sorry poor immigrant tomato-picking farmworkers! Nothing beats a cheeseburger at 4am, though.

Sunday was uneventful, but at least I got to eat at the Billy Goat Tavern in the airport. For a Cheezeborger and Sausage #5 from my trip.

Had a blast and am looking forward to next year!
